MAC Award winner Goldie Dver knew two things when she decided to make her cabaret comeback this past June: she wanted to perform at Don’t Tell Mama—her longtime cabaret home—and she wanted to title the show Back in Mama’s Arms.

For this sophisticated evening of heart, humanity and great music, songs were chosen with love and care from the full range of musical genres—songbook standards, musical theatre, pop— with one purpose: to share the life-affirming themes their lyrics contain.  Directed by James Beaman, with

Musical Direction by Bill Zeffiro, featuring John Miller on bass and Grant MacAvoy on drumsBack in Mama’s Arms weaves together material by Sondheim, Maltby & Shire, Newley & Bricusse, Johnny Mandel, Alan & Marilyn Bergman, Joni Mitchell, Brian Lasser, as well as original gems by Bill Zeffiro and Goldie’s late husband Paul Dver.

I sat down with Dver for a heartfelt chat.  Check out the video below!
