David Sabella is internationally recognized as a Master Teacher in Musical Theater and Contemporary Commercial Music Vocal Techniques. He has served as an Executive Director of The Broadway Theatre Project (2012-15), as well as the President of NYSTA The New York Singing Teachers’ Association (2008-14). And, has served on the Musical Theater voice faculty at Montclair State University, and Fordham University, as well as NYU, Tisch School of the Arts, CAP21 Studio; The New School University’s Mannes College Prep. Division; the State University of New York, College at Purchase and College at Newpaltz. He has also been a faculty member, author, and workshop presenter at The Voice Foundation’s annual symposium, and has conducted master-classes, faculty training workshops, and musical theater pedagogy seminars throughout the contiguous United States, Alaska, and South America.

David is a member of The National Association of Teachers of Singing, and author of a groundbreaking research study, “Beyond Belt – Acoustics and Mechanics of the Contemporary Commercial Belt,” which he presented at the 52nd NATS Conference (2012). He has been awarded NYSTA’s Distinguished Voice Professional Certificate, and is recognized as a “Singing Voice Specialist” working with singer’s recovering from injury or illness, as part of the medical & rehabilitative/rehabituation team.

David is featured in “So You Want To Sing CCM” (Rowan & Littlefield, 2018) as one of twelve internationally recognized pedagogues to have developed a modern vocal technique for teaching Contemporary Commercial Music. And, is currently writing “So You Want To Sing Cabaret,”(also R&L) for publication in Spring 2020. He is a member of The Manhattan Association of Cabaret, a reviewer for www.bistroawards.com, and the Editor-in-Chief of www.cabarethotspot.com.
